Join a Coffee of The Month Club

It wasn’t until about three years ago that I started drinking coffee. It all began when I visited one of those trendy coffee bars with a friend. I told her that coffee wasn’t really something I indulged in and she insisted that I try a particular concoction that had a very long name and some delicious whipped cream on top. That was the start of my coffee obsession. My friend was quick to notice how I became a lover of all things java and she got me a membership to one of the coffee of the month clubs for my birthday.

The Coffee Taster's ClubIdeal doesn’t even begin to describe this present. If you’ve ever purchased a gourmet cup of coffee you know how expensive it can be. It can be intimidating to try a new flavor simply because of the price. When a cup of coffee costs more than five dollars you want to ensure you’re going to enjoy it. With the Coffee of the Month Club you can try a new flavor each and every month, so you’ll know what you like and don’t like.

Where you live isn’t really a consideration. The samples of fresh ground coffee are mailed directly to you. You can give the coffee of the month clubs either your home or work address. Most send out a sample that will make between ten and twelve cups of coffee, so sharing it with office mates is always a nice idea. In fact some offices join the coffee of the month clubs by having each employee contribute a small amount of money towards the cost. Once the coffee arrives, they purchase some pastries and have a coffee tasting party.

Another version of this type of club can be found at some of the high end coffee bars. You can purchase a card which works much the same as the coffee of the month clubs. Each month many of these types of establishments feature a new and original coffee flavor. Your card will entitle you to a free cup of the featured coffee each month. After so many months, you earn a reward that might be a mug or a package of coffee to take home. For someone who drinks a lot of coffee, it’s actually a great bargain as well as an inexpensive way to taste the newest inventions in the world of coffee.

If you can’t go going in the morning without your daily boost of caffeine, you should seriously consider joining one of these clubs. Although many people swear by black coffee, they would be pleasantly surprised to know that by adding a bit of flavor, the coffee can take on a whole new richness and appeal. Coffee of the Month Clubs deliver a burst of taste right to your door and into your favorite mug.

How to Use a Turkish Coffee Grinder

Turkish coffee is a popular choice for many coffee-lovers, providing a flavorful and robust alternative to the standard cup of coffee. A Turkish Coffee Grinder can make it simple to achieve this tasty flavor, and you can adjust the flavor by adjusting the fineness of the grind with a small adjustment on the machine.

The Turkish coffee grounds resemble a fine powder, and this is easily achieved with the right make and model of your Turkish Coffee grinder. Making Turkish coffee the traditional way can be a time-consuming process. You’ll need to begin with a high quality, medium roast. The standard blends will range from French or Italian roasts, but you can also choose a gourmet, flavored variety.

The coffee beans are then ground. Choose the finest setting available, which is often smaller than even the espresso setting, and which will help you achieve a very potent mixture. Turkish coffee is a popular way to enjoy a very strong cup of coffee after dinner, or during the afternoon.

To make the coffee itself, you will add the powder-ground coffee to 1 teaspoon of sugar and 2 oz of water per serving. The ingredients need to be combined to fit inside the Turkish Coffee Pot, and you’ll need to brew the entire mixture for at least 15-20 minutes. Turkish coffee is often made by boiling on the stove, and requires frothing the mixture and then boiling it down.

The ideal Turkish coffee grinder is made with an electric burr grinder construction; this provides the extra-fine grounds you need to make it work. The grinder requires good quality water and fresh roasted coffee to be poured into the brewer for the best results.

The steel burrs work simultaneously at high speeds which makes it easy to create consistent coffee grounds and helps to maintain the freshness and general texture of the original coffee bean. By the way, this is the coffee grinder that is used extensively to prepare Turkish coffee. The conical burr coffee grinder is the top choice for espresso machines, a French press, drip coffee makers, and large-scale percolators.

When you are searching for the ideal coffee grinder, it’s important to keep in mind the level of noise involved and safety features on the machine. Do You do Dunkin Donuts Coffee?

Dunkin’ Donuts coffee is so bad that for a while I expected it to be the next craze among the hipsters. I can just picture it now – the same clones who end the days with PBR starting them with a steaming, bitter, tasteless glass of Dunkin doughnuts coffee along with a few donut holes.

You see, I am a bit of a coffee snob. I love blue Mountain coffee, and never drink the stuff that comes from crystals. At home, I have a selection of fair trade coffee grown in some of the best locations in the world. Coffee sets the beat of my life – I wake up with a cup of it, and I go to bed after working the night shift just as the evening dose of caffeine leaves my body.

You can probably understand why it is so awful for me to have nothing but Dunkin Donuts coffee to drink all day. I tried to bring my own coffee from home in hopes of avoiding Dunkin Donut coffee, but no luck. As soon as my boss caught on, he forbid it. He told me that it was my responsibility to endorse the products that we sold.

I would be able to bring my own lunches, of course, but I would not be able to drink coffee from an outside source. Nonetheless, in hopes of avoiding the Dunkin Donuts coffee, I still occasionally smuggle in mugs from home. One time, in a rare fit of bravery, I even switched the Dunkin Donuts coffee with some gourmet coffee that I had brewed myself. That cheered up some of the customers!

Nonetheless, if there is one good thing about Dunkin Donuts coffee, it is the fact that it does seem to go pretty well with the doughnuts.

You see, coffee does not need a lot of flavor when it is being eaten some of the creamiest, sweetest donuts in the world. It just needs to balance out the taste of the doughnuts, and Dunkin Donuts coffee seems to do a pretty good job of that.

Still, when I eat my doughnuts with a superior brand of coffee, they taste a lot better!

Start Up Your Own Coffee Shop

You’ve seen the phenomenal coffee craze that’s in full effect today. In some places there’s a coffee shack every few blocks and even small towns have a Starbucks. The whole world loves hot, iced, and even frozen coffee drinks. It’s like they can’t get enough caffeine. People are sipping lattes in the morning, cappuccinos in the afternoon and frapuccinos at all hours of the night.

So what does all this mean? Well, basically it means that now is the time to start pondering the notion of starting a coffee shop of your own. This is an excellent way to make a great income. All you need to do first is a little research on coffee supplies and your area.

Before starting a coffee shop of your own, it’s a good idea to scope out your environment. The location of the coffee shop is key. Seek out a venue that’s ideal for morning and afternoon commuters. On the way to work in the morning is when so many people want a latte or iced coffee beverage.

So naturally starting a coffee shop near the commuting traffic is an excellent idea. Improve on it by adding a drive-thru and you will be hard to be beat. Folks love convenience, and the more convenient you make it for them to purchase a coffee and be on their way, the better.

On a separate note, starting a coffee shop in a very rural area is not always such a wonderful concept. You have to make certain you have the potential consumers at your fingertips. Without the customers, your coffee shop will never make it. Running any business is dependent upon proper location and customers. So do not make the mistake of starting a coffee shop in an area that lacks both.

The cost of supplies will naturally be a factor when opening a coffee shop. Take a moment to think about all the things you’ll need. A general list of coffee shop supplies consists of; plastic cups, straws, napkins, several types of milk, coffee beans, a variety of syrups (normal and sugar-free), snacks and obviously a high-end commercial espresso machine.

While these are just the basics of starting a coffee shop, it’s prudent to remember that these supplies can add up quickly; so be sure to shop around when seeking supplies for your new coffee shop.

Of course, there’s going to be a lot of work involved and many you will encounter many factors not covered here, but think of what a cooool thing it would be to have your own coffee shop.

Why Does My Coffee Cost So Much?

The most expensive coffee is not necessarily the best!

Coffee prices, as with most commodities, fluctuate with market and production conditions. If you’re a coffee lover, does the most expensive coffee win the taste contest? If you were blindfolded and had six cups of coffee, all different, in front of you would you be able to pick the most expensive?

The coffee tree is native to many regions around the world and has been transplanted to many others. The two main types of coffee are Arabica and Robusta. Arabica is a finer grade than Robusta and therefore commands a higher price. Arabica beans mature more slowly than Robusta, so production costs are higher, making Arabica the most expensive coffee of the two types.

However, varieties of Arabica are found in countries from the African continent to the Hawaiian islands. If Kenyan coffee trees have been subject to poor growing conditions this year, the price naturally goes up. Now let’s suppose the Kona variety from Hawaii enjoyed superb weather and a great harvest of superior beans. The price of the Kenyan coffee may surpass the Kona coffee price, although the Kona is better. Although the Kenyan product is the most expensive coffee, it’s certainly not the best of this year’s crop.

Much like wine, soil and weather conditions play heavily into the quality of the finished drink. Even the finest coffee variety can suffer a bad year. While the price may be high, you may wonder why your neighbor recommended it so highly. Like vintages of wine, you have to watch coffee conditions year by year. Some so-called experts will say Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is the best in the world, while others claim Kenyan holds this designation. Just remember, such sweeping statements only hold true in a given particular year, not always.

Of any Arabica crop, in any year, organically grown trees will be the most expensive coffee of all. No pesticides are used, so the coffee farmer won’t realize the yield per acre that his pesticide-using neighbor gets from the same acreage.

However, the organically grown coffee does have a quite discernible taste superiority over the same variety which is not organically grown. If you want to know your coffees, you should try a small bag of one of the organic coffees at least once to judge for yourself. There are other ways of processing that will yield the most expensive coffee. Some are a little more exotic than others.

The diehard coffee lover knows that coffee is a major expense in the food budget. If you’re going to pay top dollar for your cup of Joe, you should know what you’re getting is the best. Invest some time in seeking out websites with the real skinny on the year’s crops. Befriend a knowledgable clerk in your local coffee merchant’s shop. Be aware that a skillful roast can make a lesser coffee taste like the most expensive coffee. Learn, save and savor that delicious cup.

The Most Expensive Coffee

When you think of coffee, you probably immediately imagine a Starbucks cup, piping hot and topped with whip cream. Yes sir, this has become the norm these days. Virtually everyone across the globe knows all about major coffee chains. Since this is the case, these coffee houses make a hefty profit. However, do they offer consumers the most expensive coffee beans known to man? Of course not! More than likely, major coffee chains will make use of whatever is cheap. Sadly many consumers can tell they’re doing this. But yet they still continue to purchase the coffee.

How much would you pay for the finest, expensive coffee beans? Actually, maybe you should first know where this coffee comes from. It all starts with an animal called the luwak. This badger-looking creature consumes the coffee cherries from their natural habitat. Once eaten, the coffee beans cling together before passing out of the luwak’s digestive track.

Okay, I realize what you may be thinking. The world’s most expensive coffee beans come from animal feces. Well, it does appear that way. Once the stool is collected, professionals break the coffee beans apart and proceed to dry them out. After a few more steps including drying, pounding and windowing, these pricey coffee beans are ready to go.

Just so we’re clear, a mere half a pound of these much sought after coffee beans will cost you 50 bucks. Yeah, you had to know that whopping price tag was coming. That’s about ten times as much as most folks fork out for their coffee beans.

If you’re interested in giving the world’s most expensive coffee a shot, then simply direct your attention to a little website known as animalcoffee.com. Yep, the name is rather appropriate. Just don’t be fooled by the way these high-end coffee beans are processed. In reality this company strives to meet excellent standards and they do not settle for just any beans. One thing you will notice if you give this java a shot is that there is much finer brew out there than the stuff you find in a local Starbucks.
